SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A former Cascade School District groundskeeper was sentenced to 50 years in prison for sexually abusing two young girls.

Jim Schifferer pleaded guilty in June to several counts each of sex abuse, sodomy and using a child in a sex display. He also pleaded no contest to one count of first-degree rape.

Wednesday afternoon Schifferer was sentenced to 50 years in prison, followed by 11 years of post-prison supervision. If he is still alive at the end of his 50 year sentence, Schifferer will be 103 years old. He must also register as a sex offender.

The victims said Schifferer recorded the abuse on his VHS camcorder several years ago.

During his time with the Cascade district, Schifferer worked mainly at Cascade High School in Turner, but investigators do not believe the abuse happened on school grounds or while he was on the job.
