Hawthorne Street Fair to celebrate unique Portland neighborhood

Posted: Updated:
PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Sunday will offer up an opportunity to celebrate one of Portland's most unique neighborhoods with live music, family fun and lots of sales at its boutique shops.

The Hawthorne Street Fair starts at 10 a.m. and goes until 5 p.m. on Southeast Hawthorne Boulevard.

This year's street fair is being held in conjunction with Sunday Parkways. That means hundreds of bike riders will ride the Sunday Parkways route between Mount Tabor Park and Colonel Summers Park in the neighborhoods of southeast Portland.

Some streets on the route will be closed to car traffic, allowing bike riders, roller skaters and pedestrians to move freely on southeast streets.

During the street fair, adults will want to stop by Bazi Bierbrasserie's beer garden at Southeast 32nd Avenue. The Belgian-themed bar will have rotating beers and a number of vendors, including Salt and Straw ice cream.
