A car collided with a slow moving train near Salem Friday night.
Deputies said two cars were driving west on Waconda Road Northeast, when one of them sped up and went through a stop sign to clear the train.
The second driver realized there wasn't time to get past the train and slammed on the brakes, according to deputies.
The car got hung up on one of the rails and the front of the car collided with the Portland and Western train.
The people in the car received minor injuries.
Deputies are continuing to investigate.
