Police: Drug deal leads to knife attack outside Camas Walgreens

CAMAS, WA (KPTV) -

Police arrested a man accused of attacking another man with a knife in the Walgreens parking lot in Camas.

Investigators said the altercation was the result of a drug deal gone wrong.

Camas officers were called out to the store at 3328 N.E. 3rd Ave. just before 1 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators said a 29-year-old man had a significant cut on his left forearm. He told police the suspect left in a black Jeep.

Washougal police spotted the suspect's jeep a short time later on SR-14.

Mario Pena, 53, of Cascade Locks, OR is being charged with assault.

Police said he is currently in police custody at the hospital on an unrelated health issue.

Once released from the hospital, he will be immediately booked at the Clark County Jail.
