PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
A Multnomah County Grand Jury has indicted a 63-year-old man in connection with three murder cases starting in 1975.
Jeffrey Cutlip was living in Brownsville, TX, in late July and called police there to admit his involvement in the killings, according to investigators.
He was arrested July 23 and extradited to Portland on Aug. 16.
Cutlip was indicted on two counts of aggravated murder and nine counts of murder on Monday in connection with the deaths of 44-year-old Marlene Claire Carlson in 1975, 15-year-old Julie Marie Bennett in 1977 and 33-year-old Nielene Doll in 1993.
He is set to be arraigned Tuesday in Multnomah County Court.
Cutlip is accused of murdering Marlene Carlson, 44, on Aug. 6, 1975. She was found strangled in her apartment at 715 SW 15th Ave. and had last been seen alive on July 30 that year.
On April 4, 1977, Bennett went missing and was found dead two days later in Johnson Creek.
On July 21, 1993, Doll was found deceased off Southeast Bull Run Road in rural Clackamas County. She had been reported missing earlier in the month.
Cold Case Homicide Unit detectives are continuing to investigate all three cases.
Anyone with information about Cutlip is asked to call cold case detectives.
