CLACKAMAS, OR (KPTV) -
The man accused of shooting another customer at the Clackamas Fred Meyer has pleaded not guilty in court.
Jerry Harryman was arraigned on the charge of assault on Monday.
Investigators said he shot Bill Young of Milwaukie in the leg after a dispute inside the store.
He pleaded not guilty and his bail remains set at $250,000.
If he is able to make bail, he has been ordered to have no contact with the other man and he's not allowed to possess any firearms.
Young's wife said Harryman was trying to look at her PIN number at the checkout counter.
Punches were thrown between the two men, but witness have given conflicting accounts about who started it.
The sheriff's office said Harryman did have a valid concealed handgun license, which has now been revoked.
His trial is set to begin Oct. 18.
