VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
Walmart announced plans for a new store in Vancouver on Tuesday.
It will be located near Vancouver Plaza at the site of a former grocery store near the intersection
of Northeast 25th Street
and NE Andresen Road.
Walmart says the new neighorhood market store will create about 95 jobs and is expected to open in 2013.
It will be about 43,000 sq. feet and feature a variety of products, including: fresh produce, meats and dairy products, frozen foods, dry goods and staples, a one-hour photo center and more.
Walmart says the store will also feature energy efficient technology, environmentally conscious features and LED lighting.
The company says it plans to pay full time employees about $12.93 an hour. That includes some benefits such as health care, matching 401(k) contributions and bonuses based on store performance .
As of April 30, 2012, Walmart employs 18,213 associates in Washington state, according tot he company.
