HUNTINGTON, OR (KPTV) -
A semi-trailer loaded with syrup erupted in flames on Interstate 84.
It happened at around 9:30 p.m. Monday east of Huntington in eastern Oregon.
Troopers said the fire started after the driver stopped on the westbound shoulder near milepost 265.
A 2000 Volvo commercial truck was pulling the semi-trailer packed with syrup. Both the truck and trailer were destroyed.
Sukhwinder Kang, 50, of Fairfield, CA, told troopers the fire appeared to start in the area of the truck's rear axle.
Kang and his co-driver Tyler Windell, 49, of Daly City, CA, were not hurt.
