EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

There's going to be 30,000 more cars than usual on Interstate 5 this Saturday and most of them will be heading to a football game.

Oregon State Police and the Oregon Department of Transportation said drivers should be prepared for a busy day on the roads leading to and from Eugene and Corvallis this weekend.

The University of Oregon and Oregon State University will both be playing their first home games of the season Saturday.

It's one of four times this season when both the Ducks and Beavers will play home games on the same day.

In the Corvallis area, the signal timing of Highway 34 has been adjusted to allow more traffic to pass through intersections.

After the game, drivers at the south bypass will be restricted from turning west into town, but will have a fulltime green light for turning east onto Highway 34.

Drivers on the Van Buren Bridge heading east on the highway will not have to stop at the intersection.

In Eugene, the Pioneer Parkway exit ramp from eastbound Highway 126 will be closed for around 90 minutes after home games.

Drivers traveling east on Highway 126 are encouraged to take the Mohawk Boulevard exit and use Q Street to access the north Springfield area.

State, county and city police along with ODOT workers encourage you to report any possible intoxicated or dangerous drivers by calling 9-1-1 or OSP dispatch at 800-24-DRUNK (800-243-7865).
