PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

A Portland man has been sentenced to 15 years behind bars after pleading guilty to producing child pornography.

Terry Leichleiter, 43, was sentenced Tuesday. He pleaded guilty in April to a charge of producing the illegal content involving a 15-year-old girl.

He was also sentenced to a lifetime of post-prison supervision and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Investigators said he used a "chat line" service to place an advertisement soliciting females to engage in pornographic filmmaking for money.

The victim responded and originally told Leichleiter she was 18 years old. She eventually said she was 16 after he pressed her about her commitment to making the film.

Prior to producing the film, investigators said he required the victim to travel to his mother's apartment for sexual contact.

He told her that she would be paid for it later with the fee for making the film.

Investigators said a few weeks later, Leichleiter recorded the victim having sex with himself and a co-defendant.

The men then tricked the victim into believing they were going to a nearby store to use the ATM and get cash, but investigators said they went out the back door and did not return calls from the girl.

Federal charges arose after the victim reported the events to a counselor.

Federal agents said Leichleiter denied having any knowledge of the victim at first, but his co-defendant Benjamin Burchell fully admitted to the allegations.

Burchell pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography in June and his sentencing is set for Sept. 20.
