PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Portland police have arrested 50-year-old Michael Allen on a number of charges, saying he crashed into two people at the intersection of Southeast 142nd Avenue and Division Street.
Officers said the crash happened at 7:20 p.m. Thursday. Police arrived and found two adult victims, a man and a woman, suffering from traumatic injuries.
Both pedestrians appeared to be in a marked crosswalk, officers said. The two victims were rushed to the hospital.
Allen remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, but officers said he was driving under the influence.
He now faces charges of reckless driving, second-degree assault, third-degree assault, vehicular assault and driving under the influence of intoxicants.
The names of the two victims haven't been released. Investigators said they're both in critical condition.
