SALEM, OR (KPTV/AP) -
Boise State's college football team is as much known for its blue turf as it is for its winning records, and now the West Salem High School Titans have their own unique gridiron to flaunt.
Black turf has just been installed at the Salem school, and football team supporters have already taken to calling it The Black Hole.
An executive for FieldTurf told the Salem Statesman Journal it's the only black field the company has ever sold. Marketing Vice President Darren Gill says the company is promoting color fields, and other schools are considering the likes of maroon and burgundy - even white.
