OREGON CITY, OR (KPTV) -

Investigators are hoping the public can help them catch two women accused of using fake money at an Oregon City convenience store.

The Oregon City Police Department is attempting to identify two women seen on surveillance video allegedly passing three counterfeit $20 bills at the 7-11 store located at 705 Washington St. last Wednesday.

Investigators said a portion of the money was used to purchase lottery tickets and the remainder was exchanged for smaller bills.

Police are concerned that the women are using counterfeit money at other businesses in the area.

"You just have to keep common practice and keep up on checking every bill," said Karen Hill, who works at Howell's Restaurant nearby. "With the big bills, we make them put it in the poker machines to make sure they're validated."

If you have any information regarding the identity of these subjects, or their whereabouts, please call the Oregon City Police at 503-655-8211.
