Fire destroys vacant home

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at an empty house in southeast Portland.

The fire started around 9:30 Friday night at a home on Southeast 111 near Alder.

Crews arrived to find the house engulfed in flames.

In all four engines, two trucks, two fire chiefs and an ambulance responded to the fire.

They were able to keep the flames from spreading to the neighboring homes and trees.

No one was hurt.

Investigators are working to determine a cause and assess the damage.
