BANDON, OR (KPTV) -
A fight between a group of people heading north on Highway 101 near Bandon turned deadly when the car stopped and a man from the car opened fire, killing one man and injuring two others.
State police said there were five people, including the suspect Timothy Henson, inside the car Sunday evening. Henson and the four others are believed to have lived together on the same property in Myrtle Creek.
At some point during the dispute inside the car, a gun was produced and fired inside the car, injuring one of two female passengers and leading the driver to stop along the highway.
Once outside the car, Henson shot and killed George Micheaux III, who was in his late teens, and also shot Milton Leach in the head, police said. Leach, who is in his 50s or 60s, was in critical condition at a Portland hospital at last report.
At about 6 p.m., the Coos County 911 center began receiving numerous calls from people reporting two bodies lying next to the highway just north of Seven Devils Road. At least one call described some sort of fight at the location and reported hearing gunshots.
Using a description of the car given to police by one of the 911 callers, officers began searching the area and found the vehicle off a spur road from the main drive leading to Belloni's Ranch - several miles north of where Micheaux and Leach and were found shot.
State troopers and Coos COunty deputies then found and arrested Henson, who was with the two female passengers.
Henson was jailed on one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of assault.
Anyone who may have additional information about the shooting is asked to call police.
