BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -
A naked man carrying a backpack in front of Five Oaks Middle School in Beaverton was arrested by officers Tuesday morning.
It's the first day of school in the Beaverton School District, and a school bus driver headed to the middle school spotted 23-year-old Russell Persons on 173rd Avenue. There were children on the bus at the time, and the bus driver called police, who quickly responded.
The middle school entered lockout mode to prevent Persons from entering the school, police said.
Washington County deputies caught up with Persons near Fieldstone Street. He was wearing socks and shoes and nothing else but a backpack, police said.
Persons told officers he had just left a friend's house and was just walking around. He knew that he was naked and didn't believe it was a problem, police said.
Officers arrested Persons on a charge of disorderly conduct because he caused the middle school to go into lockout mode. He was booked into the Washington County Jail.
