
Around 800 gallons of sewage overflowed out of a manhole Wednesday morning on Southwest Terwilliger Boulevard.
The situation was discovered near the intersection of Southwest Southridge Drive on the east side of Tryon Creek State Natural Area at 10:45 a.m.
The sewage flowed into a roadside drainage ditch and did not enter a storm drain or Tryon Creek.
Maintenance crews were able to stop the overflow at around noon.
An estimated 800 gallons of sewage flowed into the drainage ditch, according to Portland's Bureau of Environmental Services.
Sewage warning signs are posted at the overflow site while crews assess cleanup options.
The cause of the overflow has not yet been released.
