SALEM, OR (KPTV) -
Students were evacuated at Chemeketa Community College in Salem after firefighters were called out to reports of smoke inside a building.
Firefighters traced the smoke back to an air conditioning unit on top of the building.
An electrical failure occurred in the unit and ignited some paperwork stored inside of it, according to investigators.
Fire and smoke damage was confined to the unit and crews used positive pressure ventilation to help clear out the burning odor.
The building was not damaged.
After clearing the smoke, students were allowed to re-enter the building and resume normal class activities.
No one was hurt.
