A judge denied bail for Christian DeLaurentiis, who is accused of killing his roommate Phillip Lindemuth and then cutting up Lindemuth's body and stuffing it in a freezer.
Police pulled over DeLaurentiis back in May on an unrelated charge.
When investigators questioned him about Lindemuth, he first replied that he was out of town. He then changed his story and said Lindemuth had killed himself and left a suicide note behind.
DeLaurentiis told deputies that he panicked and cut up the body using knives, a hammer, scissors, screwdrivers, chisels and a Skil saw and then stuffed the body into the freezer in their Aloha home.
Newly released court documents reveal that DeLaurentiis says he was acting in self-defense. They say that during a jailhouse interview, DeLaurentiis told deputies that Lindemuth made a pathetic lunge towards him with a pen knife during an argument, and DeLaurentiis stabbed Lindemuth in self-defense.
The court documents say they were arguing over bank robberies and sexual matters.
The documents also show that DeLaurentiis called his mother from the jail and denied killing Lindemuth but admitted to dismembering him in a bathtub and then sticking him in a freezer.
DeLaurentiis is facing a murder charge.
