Grass fire scorches field in Mill Plain

MILL PLAIN, WA (KPTV) -

Police were forced to close a busy street when a grass fire broke out on a vacant lot in Mill Plain Thursday night.

Firefighters responded to the fire just before 8:30 p.m. and quickly got it under control.

The fire was burning in deep grass in a 80 by 200 yard field off Mill Pain Boulevard. Police closed the street to traffic between 172 Ave. and 192Ave.

No structures were threatened.
