BATTLE GROUND, WA (KPTV) -
A former Prairie High School student accused of raping a ninth-grader is going to prison.
Jeremiah Thompson was sentenced to two years behind bars Friday.
He pleaded guilty in August to the charge of third-degree child rape.
He was a senior when he was arrested in April on charges of sexually abusing a ninth-grader from the same school.
He was already a sex offender.
In February 2010, Thompson was convicted of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and fourth-degree assault, which led to his sex offender status.
At the time of his arrest, a Battle Ground District spokesman said Thompson's crime happened off campus and he met the victim off campus, as well.
