A man suffered critical injuries when hit by a car in Gresham.
It happened just east of Burnside and Powell on Highway 26 Saturday night.
Police said they initially responded to reports of a possibly drunk man running in and out of traffic.
Witnesses reportedly told police that the man had been on "all fours" in the eastbound lanes, then suddenly sprinted across the highway to the westbound lanes when he was hit.
Emergency crews took the man to Emanuel Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver, Kerie Barrow, 36, of Gresham, is cooperating with the investigation.
Officers said neither speed or intoxication was a factor on the part of the driver, but the man may have been drunk.
Barrow is not facing any charges, and officers said none were anticipated.
As of Sunday morning, Police had not released the man's name pending family notification.
