Wildfire grows to 1,500 acres near Sisters

SISTERS, OR (KPTV) -

A new wildfire is burning just about four miles east of the north Sister Mountain.

The Pole Creek Fire was reported about 10:45 a.m.and by late afternoon had grown to 1,500 acres.

The Crossroads area outside of the town of Sisters has been told to be ready to evacuate if needed.

Forest Service roads 16 and 15 are closed and Highway 242 is closed at the Trout Creek intersection on the Sisters side.

Fire crews have also evacuated the Three Creeks Campground.

Fire officials are planning to hold a community meeting on Monday evening at 6 p.m.

The meeting will provide information on the Pole Creek Fire and will take place at Sisters Elementary School at 611 E. Cascade.
