PORTLAND, OR (KPTV/AP) -

Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is making a stop Monday in Portland.

Ryan's plane touched down around 10:30 a.m. He briefly spoke with supporters, then hopped aboard an SUV to head to a private event.

No public events are planned as he holds a private fundraiser at the Governor Hotel. Invitations say tickets range from $1,000 for admission to the general event, $2,500 for a VIP photo, $10,000 for access to a technology innovator round table, and $25,000 for a private dinner.

Ryan makes a similar fundraising stop Monday afternoon in the Seattle area.

There will be street and sidewalk closures around the Governor Hotel at 614 SW 11th Ave. because of Ryan's visit.

Southwest Alder Street, between 10th and 11th avenues, will be the most impacted with intermittent closures. Commuters who normally travel through the area should seek out an alternate route, police said.

The food carts in downtown Portland will remain open during Ryan's visit.
