RIDGEFIELD, WA (KPTV) -
An early morning fire destroyed a mobile home in Ridgefield.
The call came in at 3:15 a.m. Monday on North 10th Street.
Investigators said smoke detectors woke the homeowner up, but she didn't have a cell phone and had to drive to a Circle K store to call 911.
Crews also didn't get an exact address from her, so it took some time to find the home.
Those delays allowed the fire to spread throughout the double-wide mobile home.
Crews had to use two water tenders to put it out because the home is in an area where there are no hydrants, according to firefighters at the scene.
Fortunately, nobody was hurt and the fire did not reach any other buildings.
The cause remains under investigation.
