PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Daily records for high gasoline prices are being set each day in Oregon.
The state's average price is $4.04, the highest ever for this calendar day. Daily records have been set for more than three straight weeks, according to AAA.
Experts expect pump prices to decline in the coming months as the summer driving season comes to an end.
The end of the hurricane season is another factor in an expected price drop, along with refineries switching from summer-blend gasoline to a less expensive winter-blend.
The current average price in the Portland-Vancouver metro area is $4.01, which is up 21 cents from a month ago.
The statewide average has increased by 18 cents since last month and 20 cents over the last year.
Nationally, gasoline prices are at $3.84 on average. That number has decreased in seven of the 11 days to begin September.
