VANCOUVER, WA (KPTV) -
A landlord is accused of shooting his former roommate in the leg in Salmon Creek.
Deputies responded to a home at 1201 NE 117th St. at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday.
They said Rochelle Breen, 55, suffered a single gunshot wound to her upper leg. Breen told deputies she was shot by Jack Buxton.
Buxton, 71, rented a room to Breen for the past year or so, according to deputies. She had moved out about two weeks ago.
Breen was initially treated at the scene by Deputy Sheriff Jon Shields, who is a trained paramedic. He applied a tourniquet to control the loss of blood.
Breen was taken to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.
Detectives from the Clark County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit were called to the scene. They said Buxton is cooperating with the investigators and agreed to be interviewed.
The case remains open and no arrests have been made at this time.
