AUMSVILLE, OR (KPTV) -
Marion County deputies are seeking the public's help in finding two people suspected of stealing a truck and trailer full of equipment from a metal salvage and recycling business near Aumsville.
Investigators said employees of RDMS Inc. arrived at work at about 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to find that someone had broken into the business, which is located in the 9000 block of Silver Falls Highway Southeast.
The employees discovered that offices had been entered, items had been stolen and a company truck and box trailer were missing.
After checking the area, the workers found the truck stranded along a set of railroad tracks about 500 yards away and saw several people trying to free the vehicle. The suspects ran away upon being seen by the employees.
Marion County deputies and Salem police officers searched the area using canines. One suspect, Jeremy Harris, of Stayton, was discovered nearby. Investigators said he was hiding in a bush and refused to surrender. He was arrested after receiving dog bites.
Harris now faces charges of burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle. At least two suspects remain at large.
Anyone with information about the remaining suspects is asked to call the Marion County Sheriff's Office tip line at 503-540-8079. Callers can remain anonymous.
