JUNCTION CITY, OR (KPTV) -
Family and friends are mourning the death of a Junction City teen who was hit and killed by an Amtrak train while visiting the memorial of a relative who had also been killed by a train in August 2010.
Police said 14-year-old Julius Schmidt and two friends and at some point, they heard the train approaching and tried to run across the tracks.
Two of them made it, but Schmidt did not.
A memorial for him has also been set up next to the tracks.
