THE DALLES, OR (KPTV) -

A warrant has been issued for the suspect accused of killing a man in a parking lot in The Dalles.

Mark Labonte was killed after an incident Sunday night at the Fred Meyer store on West Sixth Street.

On Wednesday, investigators announced Carlos Medina, 20, of The Dalles, is the single suspect in this case.

Police have been treating the case as a homicide, but still have not released the details of what led to Labonte's death.

Labonte was rushed to Mid-Columbia Medical Center and then taken from there to Oregon Health & Science University by a LifeFlight helicopter. He was pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m. Monday.

An autopsy confirmed he died of blunt force trauma to his head.

According to court records, Medina was convicted of strangulation in Hood River County earlier this year.

He was also convicted of cocaine possession in Wasco County and interfering with a police officer in Multnomah County, both also in 2012.

If you know where Medina is, you're asked to call 911 right away.

If you have any other information about this investigation, call police at 541-296-2613.
