PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Oregon State Police said they arrested Jesus Israel Osorio after he was released from Oregon Health & Science University where he was being treated since a Sept. 9 traffic crash.
Investigators said Osorio's Ford Explorer with three passengers was eastbound on Highway 30 near milepost 74 traveling downhill when it drifted off the roadway last Sunday.
The driver over-corrected and lost control causing the vehicle to roll three times before coming to rest on its wheels in the eastbound lane.
The three passengers received non-life-threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to local area hospitals. Osoroio was transported by LifeFlight helicopter to Oregon Health & Science University with serious injuries.
Osorio, age 34, from Kelso, Washington, was arrested as a fugitive from justice based upon an outstanding Cowlitz County warrant for unlawful delivery of a heroin, a controlled substance.
He was lodged in the Multnomah County Jail and also cited for no operators license, driving uninsured and fail to drive within a lane.
OSP troopers from the St. Helens and Astoria offices responded to the scene. The Westport Rural Fire Department, Clatskanie Fire Department and ODOT also assisted. The highway was closed for about 45 minutes.
