
The Sandy Fire District is looking for men and women who want to become volunteer firefighters.
Firefighters in Sandy range in age from 18 to 63, along with students between the ages of 14 to 18 who serve as Fire Explorers and are trained in many of the duties of a firefighter.
Sandy Fire District emergency responses are comprised of car crashes, medical calls and a few fires.
District leaders said key characteristics of their volunteers are the ability to be flexible, adaptable, creative and trustworthy.
You must also be at least 18 years old and a high school graduate, or have a GED.
Applications must be completed and turned in no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 2.
The can be picked up at the main station, 17460 Bruns Ave., Sandy between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
