Doctor from The Dalles to plead guilty to sex abuse of patients

THE DALLES, OR (KPTV) -

A doctor from the Dalles accused of sexually assaulting patients is set to plead guilty to the charges.

The Wasco County District Attorney said Frederick Field will be changing his plea in court Tuesday.

Field was arrested in July 2011.

One woman came forward and said the doctor sexually abused her in 2007. After that went public, another woman said Field did the same thing to her in February 2011.

Eventually Field was indicted for the sexual abuse of at least 12 women.

Investigators said the abuse happened at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center while the victims were sedated for surgery.

Field worked as an anesthesiologist at the Mid-Columbia Medical Center for five years. His medical license has been suspended.

He originally pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
