Crews battle 10-acre wildland fire in Scappoose

SCAPPOOSE, OR (KPTV) -

Crews are battling a 10-acre fire in Scappoose Friday night.

Firefighters were called out to the wildland fire on Holaday Road at 7:15 p.m.

It was three to five acres, but grew to 10 acres by 9 p.m.

Two homes were about a fourth of a mile from the fire line. Firefighters surrounded the fire and protected the homes.

Around 30 firefighters were called to the scene.

It's not yet known what started the fire.
