Crash knocks down power pole, floods business

Posted: Updated:

A car crash in Vancouver knocked down a power pole and caused a water main to flood a business.

It happened at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday near Yard'N Garden Land on Northeast 102nd.

The car hit the power pole, causing power lines to fall on the car. The falling pole also somehow uprooted the water main.

Crews said water severely flooded the Yard'n Garden Land from the nursery to the office.

The driver was a woman in her late 20s or early 30s.

She appeared unconscious inside the car until the  power company showed up to remove the power lines, which were not live.

The woman then regained consciousness and crews took her to Peace Health hospital.

There was no word on her condition as of Sunday morning.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
