Two arrested in deadly beating case at SE Portland bar

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Portland police have arrested two people in connection to a deadly assault case in southeast Portland.

Officers were called out to Mama Son's Tavern, 12510 S.E. Division St., on Aug. 13.

They found Steven Young, 59, suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries on Sept. 4.

Investigators said Young was punched by Bary Franklin, 51. The victim then fell to the ground and hit his head.

Franklin was arrested Sept. 13 and charged with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.

Jennifer Franklin, 28, was also arrested and charged with hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence in this case.

Both were booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
