PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -

Investigators hope surveillance video will help track down an armed attacker who fought with a man at a Southeast Portland MAX stop.

Police were called to the platform on Southeast Foster Road and Interstate 205 at 9:30 p.m. Sept. 13.

Josh Smith, 28, told police he was sitting on a rail at the MAX stop and listening to music in his headphones.

He said the suspect walked up to him and wanted to listen to the headphones.

Smith ignored the man and told police that's when the suspect pulled a gun and fired shots toward the victim.

Smith grabbed the shooter and they struggled to the ground. Smith suffered an arm injury, but he was not shot.

The suspect got up and took off on a bicycle.

He is described as a Hispanic man in his mid 20s. He was last seen heading south on Southwest 92nd Avenue.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward up to $1,000 in this case.
