SEASIDE, OR (KPTV) -

The investigation into a fire that destroyed three buildings in Seaside has not yet turned up a cause.

Fire crews first responded to a fire just off Highway 101 at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said the fire started in the northwest corner of an empty commercial building at 780 Avenue B. The building was originally a commercial laundromat that was empty and up for sale.

The fire spread to an empty home at 760 Avenue B which was also unoccupied and for sale.

The fire grew and reached Seaside Foods at 781 Avenue A, which is just north of where the fire started.

All three buildings were destroyed.

Two additional businesses suffered smoke and water damage.

"The whole corner is gone," said Glenn Crist, who watched as firefighters battled the blaze.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury while battling the fire, and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated.

The Seaside Police Department is investigating and asking for tips from anyone who might have details about this case. Call 503-738-6311.
