Afternoon traffic on I-5 in Salem slowed by fire

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

A fire near the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 in the Salem area was causing visibility problems and traffic delays Tuesday afternoon.

ODOT reported it was a vehicle fire, but fire officials haven't released any other information. It's unknown whether anyone was injured.

Troopers said the fire broke out near milepost 250 and Kuebler Road.

Two lanes were closed to allow for firefighters to put out the fire.

A witness told FOX 12 he could feel the heat from the blaze as he drove by on the freeway.
