HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -
Construction is just about to begin on a new 4,500 capacity baseball stadium in Hillsboro.
A ceremonial groundbreaking for the project is set for Friday at 11 a.m.
Hillsboro officials will grab a shovel alongside key stakeholders at the event, which will take place on Field 4 of the Gordon Faber Recreation Complex located at 4450 NW 229th Avenue.
The stadium field will have artificial turf, which will increase its year-round use for other sports including soccer, lacrosse, football and special events.
The facility will also be home to Single-A, Short Season baseball.
The public is welcome to attend.
