WOODLAND, WA (KPTV) -
Woodland police said they caught the man who stole a coin collection valued at nearly $100,000.
Officers arrested Dakota Garren and said he confessed to the crime.
Police put out a reward notice earlier this month involving a large coin collection stolen from a Woodland home.
The collection consisted of various denominations of gold and silver coins dating back to the 1800s and several commemorative coin collection sets for events such as the Olympics.
One of the coins taken was an Abraham Lincoln presidential campaign token.
Police recovered six of the stolen coins from businesses in the Battle Ground area.
Garren told detectives he cashed all the coins in at one specific shop, but the owners of that business told police they've never seen Garren and had no idea what he was talking about.
Police are still investigating where the rest of the coins ended up.
