BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -
Detectives have charged a man who had the opportunity to work closely with children on 30 additional counts of sex abuse involving young girls.
Investigators are now looking into whether there are more victims.
Deputies responded to a possible sex abuse call in the Bethany neighborhood on July 27 after someone tipped them off about suspicious activity at the suspect's home.
Stephen Webb, 44, was arrested and charged with 10 sex crimes against a child.
He was originally held on $750,000 bail.
As detectives continued investigating the suspect, they uncovered additional evidence of abuse by Webb.
On Monday, he was charged with 30 additional sex crimes against a child. He pleaded not guilty to the new charges in court Wednesday. He continues to be held in the Washington County Jail on a total bail of $2.25 million.
"I knew him. I knew his kids. He had a boy and a girl," said neighbor Kristi Fuller. "He seemed like a nice guy. This is shocking. It's really shocking."
Investigators said there are at least two female victims between 12 and 14 years old.
Webb worked for Gear Up Sports in Beaverton and investigators said he would have had the opportunity of working closely with children. It's a business that provides sports gear to kids.
Deputies said there is no evidence that the abuse took place at Gear Up Sports, but they are concerned because Webb worked around children.
Gear Up Sports had no comment Wednesday evening.
