LAKE OSWEGO, OR (KPTV) -
Deputies have released additional details about a murder suspect in Lake Oswego.
A new flier put together by the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office provides additional description notes about the man wanted for murdering 57-year-old Fredrick "Fritz" Hayes.
It happened on Atwater Road in Lake Oswego at around 6:30 a.m. Monday. A report from the Lake Oswego Review said Hayes was stabbed to death by an intruder after returning home from a walk with his two beagles.
Deputies said the suspect and the victim did not know each other.
Hayes, a retired engineer who most recently worked at computer solutions provider All Tech 1, was described by family friends and neighbors as "a wonderful man."
"He was the dad who took us to carpool every week and in his red convertible and we just thought he was the coolest dad," said Meghan McNamara, a family friend.
On Wednesday, investigators released an updated description of the killer. He is a white man in his 20s, at least 6' tall with a slender build.
His face is described as long and thin with sharp features. His nose is thin and sharp.
He had light brown or brown-colored hair and a beard that looked as if it was growing in for the first time. Deputies believe it is thin and scraggly.
He was also wearing a head scarf that hung loose and was possibly made of cotton.
His clothing was light in color.
