HILLSBORO, OR (KPTV) -

No children were on board a school bus when police said it collided with a crane Thursday morning.

Hillsboro firefighters said the crash happened near Evergreen Parkway and Glencoe Road at 8:35 a.m.

Crews worked quickly to extricate the bus driver from the school bus. According to a tweet from the Hillsboro Fire Department, the man was taken to a hospital to be treated for "non-life-threatening injuries."

The school bus involved was Hillsboro School District bus No. 129. Police are still investigating, but a spokesman said it appears the bus ran into the crane.

Evergreen Parkway is expected to be closed until at least 10 a.m.

Officers said no citations have been issued.
