BEAVERTON, OR (KPTV) -
A Beaverton nurse has been arrested on charges that she dealt methamphetamine and heroin out of her home.
Rachel Harp, 33, is a registered nurse who was most recently employed as a neonatal intensive care unit nurse.
Beaverton police said its Neighborhood Resource Team started getting community complaints about Harp, saying she was selling drugs.
Earlier this month, officers stopped her car and searched it, along with her home. Police said the search turned up heroin and methamphetamine, some of which was packaged to sell. Other drug-dealing packaging material was also found in Harp's home.
"I just want people to know that the drugs they found inside of my home did not belong to me and somebody else actually admitted to being the one who was in possession of those," Harp told FOX 12. "I would never deal drugs out of my house."
In addition to Harp, police arrested 37-year-old Gregory Hackney, of Portland, who allegedly had heroin in his possession at the time of the traffic stop.
Harp, meanwhile, faces charges of unlawful possession and delivery of heroin and methamphetamine.
Harp said the drugs belonged to a man who she allowed to stay with her at her house.
"She allowed people to stay here which she shouldn't have. She's a good mom. And she's a good nurse. And she made some mistakes," said Harp's mother, Mary Harp.
Rachel Harp, who most recently worked at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, admitted she has struggled with drugs and recently relapsed.
Police said there is no evidence that Rachel Harp was using or selling drugs at the hospital.
"She did relapse. It's the power of addiction. It's a pretty sad thing," said Mary Harp. "She's had issues but she's working on those issues."
Rachel Harp's next court appearance is scheduled in October.
