Salem police searching for counterfeit suspect

SALEM, OR (KPTV) -

Salem police hope new surveillance photos can help lead them to a man who tried to use counterfeit money at a grocery store.

On Monday, Sept. 10 at about 8:30 p.m., a man tried to buy a $500 gift card with counterfeit $20 bills from two different cashiers at the Safeway located at 1300 Center St. NE. Both times, the clerks refused to do the transaction.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Detective Kris Wickman at 503-540-2357.
