PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Hundreds of gallons of tar caused long delays on Germantown Road and Highway 30 Monday evening.
Portland firefighters were called to the scene on Highway 30 near Northwest Bridge Road and Germantown Road at 4:15 p.m.
A container filled with roofing tar slid out of the back of a pickup truck. By 5 p.m., firefighters said 200 gallons had leaked out of the tote onto the roadway.
The material flowed very slowly and while firefighters said it did not pose an environmental hazard, it did take some time to clean up.
All lanes were open again in the area shortly after 7 p.m.
