EUGENE, OR (KPTV) -

Oregon State Police troopers arrested 50-year-old Lawrence Allen Michael of Pleasant Hill Thursday, after receiving a report of a road rage shooting near Eugene.

Investigators said OSP Northern Command Center dispatchers received the report at around 6:56 a.m. Thursday. A driver reported that another driver shot at him as he was passing northbound on Interstate 5 near the Glenwood interchange. OSP said the caller told dispatchers that the bullet narrowly missed his head and damaged two windows before the suspect took the Glenwood exit.

Troopers checked area parking lots and eventually found a pickup matching the suspect vehicle's description parked in the 1600 block of Glenwood Boulevard.

Troopers said they identified the driver as Michael, and arrested him at his workplace on several charges, including attempted murder, menacing, unlawful use of a weapon and criminal mischief.

Investigators said they seized a handgun as evidence.

Michael was lodged in the Lane County Jail pending an appearance in Lane County Circuit Court.
