PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Workers walked off the job at the Port of Portland Friday.
A port spokesman said it started in the mid-afternoon but had a limited impact on operations for the day.
According to court records, the walkout happened just as a guilty verdict was delivered against Robert McEllrath, president of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.
Court records show he was found guilty of obstructing a train and sentenced to a single day behind bars. The charges stem from a protest in June 2011 in Longview.
McEllrath was also given an 89-day suspended sentence and ordered to pay $543 in fines.
The Port of Portland spokesman said they don't expect any more disruptions going forward. All workers reported for duty at 6 p.m. Friday.
