PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) -
Police detained a person of interest in a pistol-whipping and robbery investigation Friday night.
Officers were called to the Irvington neighborhood in northeast Portland around 7:40 p.m. Friday to reports of a 29-year-old woman who was attacked.
She told investigators a man pistol-whipped her and stole her purse.
Officers received a suspect description from the victim of a white man, 30 years old, bald with a medium build, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Police then located a person of interest in the case. The woman was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Robbery detectives and the Forensic Evidence Division were called to assist in the investigation.
No arrests have been made yet.
